I am a clinical neuropsychologist, licensed in Virginia, specializing in identifying and working with twice-exceptional gifted (gifted 2e) learners. Twice-exceptional gifted learners are students who are academically or intellectually advanced, with one (or more) additional educational exceptionalities. There are many more twice- exceptional gifted students than you might think, recognizable because they are exceptionally smart but underachievers in academic or social areas. If you wonder why your bright student is unmotivated and complains of boredom at school, you might have a 2e gifted learner. My practice is located in Burke, Virginia, and I work primarily with clients from Northern Virginia, especially those interested in testing for Fairfax County’s Advanced Academic Programs. Locally I founded George Mason University’s Cognitive Assessment Program, which continues to serve many Fairfax County Public School students. I look forward to meeting you and using my experience to help you and your family.
